2005–2019

Worked my way up from new groomer to manager to owning a franchise for 10 years. Then was asked to join as a co-owner of the company. Managed day-to-day operations and employees while also maintaining a regular client base.

After being mobile since 2004, we decided to open our first brick-and-mortar shop, giving me the opportunity to train new groomers to use holistic techniques while also managing a regular client base. Also developed a program to introduce puppies to the grooming process minimizing possible trauma.

Titled Pomeranians in Obedience, Agility, and Conformation. Trained “difficult” dogs for other breeders and handlers.

My introduction into the dog world, I spent my summers and weekends (when not teaching third grade) working for the professional handler that helped me show my Pomeranians. Cleaned kennels, washed and dried dogs, managed play time, helped administer medications.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

AKC SAFETY Certification

Completed all requirements to be AKC Groomer Safety Certified, a new program being developed to ensure the safety of our pets in a salon setting.

First Aid/CPR Certification

Completed all requirements with Pet Tech, Expiration:2021.

Annual Conventions

I try to attend classes at grooming conventions at least once per year. I love tweaking my technique by taking classes with some of the top groomers in the country.

Online Classes

Have taken online classes studying the chemistry of shampoos and conditioners from experts such as Barbara Bird.
